In view of the 21% increase in vitamin D sales in five years, the newspaper Jornal de Notícias refers to a study by the researcher from CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research and pediatrician Carla Rêgo, which reports the deficiencies of this vitamin in the Portuguese population.

According to this work, published in 2017, 48% of children and teenagers have low levels of vitamin D. The low level of outdoor activity is one of the reasons behind these results.
