About AI4Health

Artificial Intelligence for Health Care (AI4Health) is a research group focused on: a) the advancements in the methods used in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to approach the increasing prevalence of chronic diseases and its multimorbidities worldwide, b) the application of explainable AI methods in health, following the latest European directives; and c) interaction of cognitive science and clinical reasoning. The group highlights the great importance of complementing Artificial Intelligence research with the attention to the way it will fit in the complex health ecosystems, namely, through philosophical reflections regarding the nature of the causal medical explanations.
The objective of the AI4Health group is to produce evidence and tools to obtain maximum profit from artificial intelligence, setting the paths for its integration in health care and research.
