Ana Filipa Duarte is an integrated doctorate member of the research group 2D4H – Secondary Data for Healthcare Research at CINTESIS.

She finished in 2018 her Doctoral Program in Clinical and Health Services Research at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) with the thesis “Skin cancer – from primary to secondary prevention”.  She earned her Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Coimbra in 2002, and worked as an intern at the São João Hospital in Porto. Between 2007 and 2011, she worked as a professor of Dermatology and Venereology at FMUP.  Since 2010, she has her practice at the Center of Dermatology Epidermis, of the Cuf Institute in Matosinhos.

As a researcher she as developed and published studies mainly in her field of specialization, Dermatology, with special emphasis in skin cancer.  She regularly participates in awareness-raising campaigns on the risks of excessive sun exposure and in the Euromelanoma. Campaign. She a member of several scientific societies, namely, Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology, the Portuguese Association of Skin Cancer, the International Dermoscopy Society and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology.
