António Festa is an integrated member of the research group NursID at CINTESIS.

He graduated in Nursing at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP) in 2001, completed both, his Master degree (Specialization in Community Nursing) and his PhD from the Portuguese Catholic University, in 2009 and 2018, respectively.

He worked as a nurse in different health institutions, namely in the Francisco Gentil Portuguese Institute of Oncology (IPO) in Porto, in the Order of Carmo and in the Hospital of São João. He was also a member of the Technical Council of Family Health Unit of Faria Guimarães and a member of the Evaluation Coordinating Council of ACES Grande Porto VI – Porto Oriental.

Among the awards he has received there is the Honorable Mention of the Albino Aroso Award. He is also a member of the Family Planning Association.

He is currently a guest assistant professor at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP) and a researcher of the project “Dynamic Model of Family Assessment and Intervention: Transformative Action in Primary Health Care”, which aims to contribute to the development of new knowledge and new practices in Family Health Nursing, with a view to optimizing responses to family needs.
