Carlos Fernandes da Silva is an integrated member of the research group AgeingC at CINTESIS.
Carlos Fernandes da Silva graduated in Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Coimbra, studied a postgraduate course in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford (UK) and earned his PhD in Psychology from the University of Coimbra, the same institution where he started his teaching and research activity. He also worked at the University of Minho before joining the faculty staff of the University of Aveiro (UA) in 2005.
He is currently Full Professor and Director of the Department of Education and Psychology of the University of Aveiro (DEP / UA).
He is considered a national reference in Psychology, standing out in the area of Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapy. He has authored several books and book chapters, has published over 30 scientific articles and has led scientific projects funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) for a total of half a million euros funding.
