Catarina Moniz Alves is an integrated researcher of the Charter Group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges, and Research Manager at CINTESIS focused on project management and on international financing sources.
She holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minho. She worked as a researcher in several research institutes, including the 3B’s Research Group – University of Minho; the I3S – University of Porto; the Universities of Liverpool (United Kingdom), Texas (USA) and Harvard (USA). She also was a University Professor between 2010 and 2016.
Between 2005 and 2008, she was involved in the management of different European projects, assuming the responsibility of supervising and monitoring laboratorial activities, and organizing conferences, writing reports, presenting results and interacting with the official bodies of the European Community. Her scientific experiences earned her an invitation from the European Commission, in 2016, to join the panel for evaluation and monitoring of European scientific projects. In 2017, she finished the postgraduate course in Project Management of the EGP-Porto Business School.
