A team of researchers from CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research is studying the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of nurses.

“We aim to understand how the pandemic affects the mental health of nurses who are currently providing care in clinical practice context in Portugal,” explained Francisco Sampaio, a researcher at CINTESIS and professor at the Fernando Pessoa University; and Carlos Sequeira, a researcher at CINTESIS and a professor of the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP).

According to the researchers, there are already studies on the impact of isolation on the mental health of the general population. However, those who are “at the forefront” of this fight are yet to be studied.

The investigation involves a sociodemographic questionnaire and mental health assessment tools, which will be carried out online over the next few weeks.

If you are a nurse and you are working in a clinical practice context, you can participate here (in Portuguese).
