Corália Maria Fortuna de Brito Vicente is a researcher of the Charter group of CINTESIS.
She is a Mathematics graduate who studied at the Universities of Porto and Warwick (United Kingdom), having taught and published in several areas of Mathematics and Statistics in Biomedicine, Public Health and Community Medicine.
Corália Vicente was the Director of the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) of the University of Porto between 1992 and 2004, and was responsible for the creation of the Graduate Course in Veterinary Medicine and the Master Degree and Doctoral Program in Nursing Sciences.
Besides teaching and researching at the University of Porto, she has established several international collaborations, having led a programme funded by the World Bank and the Portuguese Government for the development of medical postgraduate education in Guinea-Bissau. She is also member of the Executive Committee of the AMSE -Association of Medical Schools in Europe since 2005.
Currently, she is a Full Professor, member of the Representative Council, and Director of the Department of Populations Studies of ICBAS, besides also acting as member of the General Council of the University of Porto.
