Dulce Madeira is an integrated researcher of CINTESIS working at the Charter group.

She graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) in 1978, and began her career as an Auxiliary Professor at the same institution in 1990, the same year she completed her Doctoral Degree in Medical Morphology.

Dulce Madeira is an Endocrinologist who worked as an Assistant Doctor at the Hospital of São João between 1988 and 1995. In 2001, she became a Full Professor of Anatomy at FMUP. She was later nominated Director of the Department of Anatomy; a responsibility she has assumed for more than 10 years now.

She coordinates two scientific projects funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) a is the author of about 70 articles published in scientific journals and of three books published by international publishers.

Besides her intense teaching and research activity, Dulce Madeira is also a member of scientific and advisory bodies of FMUP, and the Director of the Museum of Anatomy of that Faculty created in 1825 by Vicente José de Carvalho and Bernardo Joaquim Pinto.
