Elisabete Maria das Neves Borges is an integrated member of the NursID Research Group of CINTESIS, and an Coordinating Professor at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP).

She completed her postdoctoral studies at the Facultad de Medicina y Ciencias de la Salud of the Universidad de Oviedo, Spain, in 2020, earned her Doctoral Degree in Nursing from the Institute of Health Sciences of the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) in 2012, and her Master Degree in Philosophy-Bioethics from the Faculty of Philosophy of the same university. She studied the Course on Specialized Studies in Nursing in the Community at the former Nursing School of São João and is certified with the Differentiated Added Competence in Occupational Nursing by the Order of Nurses.

She has worked as a Nurse at several health institutions, namely at the Order of Carmo, Children’s Hospital Maria Pia, and at the Hospital Joaquim Urbano. She was a member of the working group “Ebola and nurses’ preparation” of the Order of the Nurses.

Elisabete Borges has published several books, book chapters, and scientific articles in specialized journals, and has received about a dozen awards and/or honors, including a congratulation from the President of the Order of Nurses in 2015. She is a member of the RedENSO International – Network of Occupational Health Nursing, of the the Portuguese Society of Mental Health Nurses and President of the Ethics Committee of the Nursing School of Porto.
