Guilhermina Maria da Silva Rego is the Principal Investigator of the research group  ManEthics of CINTESIS.

She graduated in Business Management, holds a Master Degree in Finances and a Doctoral Degree in Business Sciences from the Faculty of Economy of the University of Porto. She is a founder member of the Portuguse Association of Bioethics and is a member of several international scientific associations, namely, the International Society on Priorities in Health Care. She has published several books, among which the most important are “Prioridades na Saúde” (Priorities in Health) and “Gestão Empresarial dos Serviços Públicos” (Business Management of Public Services.

She was the Councillor responsible for the portfolio of Knowledge and Social Cohesion and Vice-President of the Municipal Council of Porto.

Currently, she works as Auxiliary Professor of the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS) of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, and since 2017, she is the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Ports of Douro and Leixões (APDL).
