Herlander Marques is the principal investigator of the BioOncoSim group – Biomolecular Medicine and & Computational Simulation of CINTESIS.
He is an Oncologist at the Hospital of Braga and a member of the social bodies of the Portuguese Association of Leukaemia and Lymphomas (APLL). His research focusses mainly on Pathology, Oncology and Haematology, areas in which he has published dozens of scientific articles.
Herlander Marques is experienced in clinical trials in which he has participated since the 90’s, when he began working at the IPO of Porto and, more recently, as a principal investigator at the Clinical Academic Centre 2CABraga/ICVS – University of Minho. In 2016, he received an honourable mention at the 1st edition of the Janssen Innovation Prize for the work “Methodology for Single Nucleotide Polymorphism Selection in Promoter Regions for Clinical Use. An example of its applicability”.
