Hernâni Gonçalves is the principal investigator of the research group SPA of CINTESIS.
He graduated in Applied Mathematics and Technology, earned his Master Degree in Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering, and his Doctoral Degree in Geographical Engineering from the University of Porto.
He was a research grantee of the CARDIOCRONOS project, financed by the FCT, where he worked in the field of signal processing and data analysis. He worked as a researcher at the Geo-Space Sciences Research Centre of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP) and as a Guest Assistant Professor at the School of Engineering of Porto (ISEP by its acronym in Portuguse).
He is a Guest Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, within the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS).
