Analyzing the impact of the pandemic by COVID-19 in the environments of professional nursing practice is one of the main objectives of a study coordinated by Olga Ribeiro, a researcher at CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research / Nursing School of Porto (ESEP).

Other objectives are “to characterize nursing practice environments; to develop, implement and validate a technological tool that allows for the continuous evaluation of nursing practice environments in their three components: structure, process, and outcome; to analyze the impact of nursing practice environments on nurses, clients and institutions; to develop comparative studies between Portugal and Brazil; and to develop strategic guidelines that promote positive nursing practice environments.

The project “Positive Professional Environments4Nursing Practice” is being developed at CINTESIS in partnership with the ESEP, the University Hospital Center of São João, the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC) and the Community University of the Chapecó Region (Unochapecó)

Besides the responsible researcher, Olga Ribeiro, other four researchers from CINTESIS are part of the project. They are Clemente Sousa (CINTESIS/ESEP), Maria Manuela Martins (CINTESIS/ESEP) and Filomena Cardoso (CHUSJ/CINTESIS).
