Luísa Sá is an integrated researcher of the PrimeCare group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine and Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.

She graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) in 1999, specializing in General and Family Medicine (GFM). In 2017, she earned her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Research and Health Services from FMUP with the work “Diagnostic and Laboratory Tests in Primary Health Care”. Between 2013 and 2015, she worked as the Principal Investigator of the clinical trial “Linagliptin as add on therapy to Empagliflozin 10 or 25mg with background Metformin in patient with Type 2 Diabetes”.

She is a Consultant in General and Family Medicine at the Nova Via USF (family health unit) in Valadares (Vila Nova de Gaia) since 2016, is a Guest Lecturer of Preventive Medicine and General and Family Medicine at the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS) of FMUP, since 2005, and is a mentor of the medical training in GFM of the Coordination Office for the Residency in General Practice of the North Region. She has several publications in national and international journals, as well as many awards and honours.
