Mário Dinis-Ribeiro, CINTESIS researcher, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and chair of the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, warns about the impact of COVID-19 in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
As informed by Agência Lusa, the specialist admits that delaying endoscopies and colonoscopies as a result of the pandemic may impair the screening and surveillance of some of the most frequent cancers in the Portuguese population.
