Manuel Gutierres is an integrated member of the research group PaCeIT – Patient Centered Innovation and Technologies at CINTESIS.

He holds a degree and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and was awarded in 2006 with the Prize Doutor Carlos Lima for the Best research Article in the field of Orthopedics.

He is assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and a graduate assistant/Head of the Shoulder Section of the Orthopedics Service of the University Hospital Center of São João. He is also a researcher, with several articles published in the area of Biomaterials and Reviewer of the Portuguese Journal of Orthopedics and Traumatology (RPOT), and Founding Member of the Portuguese Knee Society and Member of the Knee and Shoulder Sections of the Portuguese Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology ( SPOT), Portuguese Society of Sports Arthroscopy and Traumatology (SPAT), Portuguese Society of Sports Medicine (SPMD), European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery and European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow (SECEC).
