Manuel Brás is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.

He earned his Doctoral Degree in Nursing Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences with the thesis “A Sexualidade do Adolescente: A Perspectiva do Profissional de Nursing dos Cuidados de Saúde Primários” (Adolescent Sexuality: The Perspective of the Nursing Professional of Primary Health Care). Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the Health School of the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança.

He was a consultive member of the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES) from 2012 to 2013. He also occupied different key positions at the Order of Nurses, being responsible for the area of Education, Investigation and Science (2012-2013) and for the Primary Health Care area (2008-2012).

Currently, he is a Chief-nurse at the Health Administration of the North Region.
