Manuel Ferreira de Magalhães is an integrated researcher of the PaCeIT group, Thematic Line 3 – Health Data and Decision Sciences & Information Technologies, of CINTESIS.
He graduated in Medicine in 2008, completed a postgraduate course in Sports Medicine in 2015 and earned his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Research and Health Services with the thesis “Burden of Childhood Asthma in Portugal” in 2017 from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP). During part of that period he held a Fellowship in Paediatric Pulmonology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (2014).
He is a member of Cochrane Portugal – Porto Unit; and an Associate Editor of the journal Acta Pediátrica Portuguesa. He is also a member of several scientific societies, namely the Portuguese Society of Paediatrics, the Portuguese Society of Paediatric Pneumology, the Portuguese Society of Allergology and Clinical Immunology and the European Respiratory Society.
He has participated in several projects in the paediatric area and has authored several articles published in scientific journals.
Currently, he works as a Paediatrician at the Hospital Centre of São João and as a professor at the Department of Gynaecology-Obstetrics and Paediatrics at FMUP.
