Margarida Ferreira is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.

She graduated in Medical-Surgical Nursing, completed her Master in Public Health with a specialization in Occupational Health at the University of Porto in 2001, and earned her Doctorate in Applied Research, Preventive Medicine, Public Health, and Surgery from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, in 2013.

She worked as a Specialist Nurse and as Chief-nurse at the Hospital of São João/Health Administration of the North Region. In recent years, she worked as Assistant Professor at the Red Cross Nursing School of Oliveira de Azeméis and as Research Assistant at the University of Coimbra. Currently, she is an Assistant Professor at the Fernando Pessoa University. Her research focusses mainly on the fields of Public Health and Health Education.
