Maria Manuel da Silva Azevedo is an integrated researcher of the MicroMed group of CINTESIS.

She graduated in Biology / Geology at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, and completed her Master in Environmental Sciences and her Doctoral Degree in Sciences at the University of Minho.

She has been teaching in Primary / Secondary Education since 1989, and currently she works at the D. Maria II Schools Group, in Vila Nova de Famalicão.

Since 2009, she is a researcher of the Microbiology Department of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto / CINTESIS.
