Maria Celeste Bastos Martins de Almeida is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, based at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP).

She graduated in Nursing and Psychology, completed a Master Degree in Psychology and earned her Doctorate in the same field from the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences of the University of Porto (FPCE-UP).

She is an Assistant Professor at the Nursing School of Porto, where she teaches several curricular units of the Graduate Course in Nursing related to body response to disease, clinical teaching of medicine and students’ supervision during traineeship in medical services. She also teaches the curricular unit Strategies of Intervention of the Master in Community Nursing. She is a professor of the postgraduate course in Infection Control and is currently coordinating the curricular unit Infection Control of the Master in Medical-Surgical Nursing. She is a supervisor of the Masters in Medical-Surgical Nursing and Rehabilitation Nursing.

Maria Celeste Bastos is a member of the Research Unit of ESEP (UNIESEP), developing her research at the Scientific-Pedagogical Unit of Self-care (UCP – Autocuidado, in Portuguese), within the project Auto-management of Chronic Disease and PT4Ageing. She has published several scientific articles and has regularly participated in many scientific dissemination events.
