Marta Paulino Silvestre is an integrated member of the research group ProNutri at CINTESIS.

She graduated from the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the University of Porto in 2007, earned her Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon/Queen Mary, University of London, in 2014, and has been working as a researcher of the PREVIEW Study – PREVention of diabetes through lifestyle Intervention and population studies in Europe and around the World, at the University of Auckland.

She is a guest assistant professor of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon and a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. She is involved in several projects, specifically in the fields of Microbioma and Nutrition, new biomarkers of type 2 diabetes and diabetes prevention.
