NeuroGen – Neuronal Degeneration & Regeneration is a research group of CINTESIS aiming to identify and understand the mechanisms involved in ageing and in the development of diseases of the nervous system, namely, their determinants and main risk factors.

The group is constituted by a multidisciplinary team from the health field that has studied the way the brain responds to certain conditions or in front of specific stimuli, with a particular interest in neuronal neuroplasticity and in the capacity of regeneration, as well as in the influence of some substances in the prevention of a number of age-related neurodegenerative diseases.
