Pedro Machado dos Santos is an integrated researcher of the AgeingC research group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.

He earned his Doctoral Degree in Mental Health from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP), in 2010. Previously, he had graduated in Psychology from the University of Lisbon and had earned his Master Degree in Social Gerontology from the Autonomous University of Madrid (Spain).

He worked as a project manager in the framework of a mission of the NGO Doctors of the World, and was present in Sri Lanka after the 2004 tsunami.

Currently, he works as a professor at the Department of Behavioral Sciences of ICBAS, is a consultant in the National Programme for Mental Health of the Directorate-General of Health, and is a Clinical Psychologist of private practice.
