Project Description

RADAR – Autonomous Robot for Disinfection in Hospital Environment

Researchers from CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research participate in the project RADAR – Autonomous Robot for Disinfection in Hospital Environment, coordinated by INESC TEC and funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) under the RESEARCH4COVID-19 initiative. The goal is to develop a robotic system to disinfect clinical environments.

Abstract

The project will consist of the development of a robotic system for disinfecting clinical environments using ultraviolet radiation. The disinfection system will be modular and adaptable to different robotic platforms that already exist. The robots will be able to locate and navigate through the contaminated rooms, monitor the presence of people in the environment, and carry out the disinfection process autonomously.
