Cancer patients will have access to an app that will enhance communication with health professionals and assist them in the self-management of disease.
The development of this new app is part of the iGestSaúde project, which joins together CINTESIS, the Nursing School Porto, the Fernando Pessoa University and the Santa Maria Health School, as well as the Pedro Hispano Hospital / Local Health Unit of Matosinhos (ULSM), where the app is in the pilot phase.
The iGestSaúde project, Led by Célia Santos, was granted the Bolsa Celgene 2018, an award that aims to promote initiatives centered in the persons living with a disease.
Carla Sílvia Fernandes and Bruno Magalhães, other researchers of this project, were at RTP to explain the objectives of this new app, which will soon be available for other chronic diseases.
