Two researchers from CINTESIS/Nursing School of Porto have developed a board game to assess the psychological distress of informal caregivers.
“Dar Voz aos Cuidadores” (Give a Voice to Caregivers) is aimed at healthcare professionals, caregivers and their families. The Health professionals should be moderators during the game, during which caregivers and their families are called upon to respond to various challenges.
TVI talked to Maria Manuela Martins and Carla Sílvia Fernandes, authors of this game and also ex-caregivers of dependent family members. The journalist also interviewed a caregiver who tried the board game and talked about her own challenges.
