Victor Certal

Victor Certal is an integrated researcher of the PaCeIT group, Thematic Line 3 – Health Data and Decision Sciences & Information Technologies, of CINTESIS.

Victor Certal earned his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Research and Health Services from FMUP with a thesis entitled “Assessment and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea-an otorhinolaryngology perspective – moving from controversy to evidence-based practice”. He is a Medical Doctor from the Nova University of Lisbon and he holds a postgraduate degree in Sports Medicine and Climatology and Hydrology. He has had clinical training at the Hôpital Foch (France) and at the Stanford University School of Medicine (USA).

He focusses on the study of Sleep Apnea and other subjects in the field of Otorhinolaryngology, and has published near twenty scientific papers in that area.

Currently, he works as an Affiliated Professor at the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS) of FMUP and as an Otorhinolaryngologist at the Hospital Centre of Entre Douro e Vouga and at the Hospital CUF Porto.
