O 3rd Signal Processing and Monitoring (SPaM) in Labour Workshop vai decorrer entre os dias 28 e 30 de outubro, na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP), tendo como organizadores locais e membros da Comissão Científica João Bernardes, Cristina Costa Santos e Hernâni Gonçalves, investigadores do CINTESIS – Centro de Investigação em Tecnologias e Serviços de Saúde e docentes da FMUP, e Inês Nunes, do CINTESIS/Instituto de Ciências Biomédicas Abel Salazar (ICBAS).

“O SPaM constitui um fórum para especialistas de diferentes áreas, que estão a aprender a falar a mesma linguagem multidisciplinar e estão a avançar com a investigação na monitorização intraparto”, explica a Comissão Científica, que inclui também Antoniya Georgieva (diretora científica do Oxford Centre for Fetal Monitoring Technologies, em Oxford), Patrice Abry (líder do Fetuses project, ENS, Lyon) e Václav Chudácek (investigador do Institute of Informatics Robotics and Cybernetics CTU, na República Checa).

O Workshop destina-se a todas as pessoas interessadas na monitorização fetal durante o parto, incluindo médicos e outros profissionais de saúde, matemáticos, engenheiros, estudantes e representantes da Indústria.

O programa inclui intervenções de Hernâni Gonçalves e Inês Nunes sobre os desenvolvimentos da tecnologia Sisporto e uma palestra de João Bernardes sobre o passado e o futuro das análises automatizadas de cardiotocografias (CTG).

The 3rd Signal Processing and Monitoring (SPaM) in Labor Workshop will take place on October 28-30 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) under the local organization of João Bernardes, Cristina Costa Santos, Hernâni Gonçalves, and Inês Nunes, members of the Scientific Commission of the event, and researchers of CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research, as well as professors at FMUP and at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS).

“SPaM provides a forum for experts from different fields who are learning to speak the same multidisciplinary language and are moving forward with research on intrapartum monitoring,” explains the Scientific Commission, which also includes Antoniya Georgieva (scientific director of the Oxford Center for Fetal Monitoring Technologies in Oxford), Patrice Abry (leader of the Fetuses project, ENS, Lyon), and Václav Chudácek (researcher at the Institute of Informatics Robotics and Cybernetics CTU in the Czech Republic).

The Workshop is intended for anyone interested in fetal monitoring during childbirth, including doctors and other health professionals, mathematicians, engineers, students, and industry representatives.

The program includes interventions by Hernâni Gonçalves and Inês Nunes on developments in Sisporto technology and a lecture by João Bernardes on the past and future of automated cardiotocography (CTG) analysis.
