Vera Mafalda Gomes Duarte is an integrated member of the AgeingC research group of CINTESIS, at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto (ICBAS-UP).
She has a Doctorate in Gerontology and Geriatrics from ICBAS-UP. Previously, she graduated in Psychology in 2003, and completed a Master in Gerontology from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and a Master in Social Gerontology from ICBAS-UP.
She is the author of the book “Frailty in the Elderly – Models, Measures and Practical Implications”, a pioneering work on the frailty of the elderly in Portugal.
She is currently the President of Higher Institute of Health of Alto Ave (ISAVE).
