André Rosa Biscaia is an integrated researcher of the PrimeCare group, Thematic Line 1 Preventive Medicine and Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.
He graduated from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon, and earned his Doctoral Degree in International Health, branch of Health Policy and Development, from the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the same university.
André Rosa Biscaia has coordinated several research studies and is the author of many works, among which: “Cuidados de Saúde Primários em Portugal – Reformar para Novos Sucessos” (Primary Health Care in Portugal – Reform for New Successes) and “O Momento Actual da Reforma dos Cuidados de Saúde Primários em Portugal – As oito edições de 2009 a 2017” (Current State of Primary Health Care Reform – the Eight Editions from 2009 to 2017). Among the awards he has received the Grand Prize of the AstraZeneca Foundation from 2005, is one of the most important.
He is a General and Family Doctor at the Marginal Unit of Family Health of the Health Centres Cluster of Cascais, Regional Health Administration (ARS) of Lisbon and Tagus Valley (LVT in Portuguese), Chairman of the Board of the General Assembly of AGO – Garcia de Orta Association for Development and Cooperation, supervisor of the Complementary Internship in General and Family Medicine and member of the Advisory Board and of the International Relations Office of the USF-NA (National Association of Family Health Units).
