Margarida Abreu is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine & Societal Challenges of CINTESIS.
She graduated in Nursing from the Nursing School of Vila Real in 1983, specialized in Public Health Nursing at the Nursing School of Porto in 1994, completed her Master in Nursing Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto in 1998, earned her Doctoral Degree in Nursing Sciences from the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) in 2005, and finished a Post-doctorate course in Health Sciences at the University of Aveiro in 2013.
She is a Coordinating Professor at the Nursing School of Porto, where she is also a member of the Scientific-Technical and the Scientific Councils. She is the author of the book “Empreendedorismo em Nursing: da autonomia à definição de projetos de sucesso” (Entrepreneurship in nursing: from autonomy to the definition of successful projects). Her main fields of research are Ageing, Family Carers and Occupational Health.
