Maria Henriqueta Figueiredo is an integrated member of the research group NursID of CINTESIS, based at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP), where she is a Coordinating Professor.
She earned a Doctorate in Nursing Science from the University of Porto in 2010, holds a Master Degree in Psychology, and is a graduate in Community Health Nursing from the Nursing School of Santarém since 1998.
She researches mainly in the field of Family Health Nursing. Maria Henriqueta Figueiredo has published several scientific articles, book and book chapters, and has won many awards and titles throughout her professional career. She is the author of the Dynamic Family Assessment and Intervention Model.
Maria Henriqueta Figueiredo collaborated with the Portuguese Order of Nurses (OE by its Portuguese acronym) in the creation and development of the Family Health Nursing specialty, and was the OE’s Expert at the International Council of Nurses – ICN for Family Nursing / Family Health, until 2015. In 2016, she was elected President of the Portuguese Society of Family Health Nursing. She is also a Guest Professor at several Nursing Education Institutions.
