José Aníbal Fonte is an integrated researcher of the GeriMHealth group, Thematic Line 2 – Clinical and Translational Research of CINTESIS.
He is a Psychiatrist who graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. He then earned his Master Degree in Psychiatry and Mental Health and his Doctoral Degree in Medicine with the thesis “Alcoolismo e recaída: Factores psicossociais de vulnerabilidade” (Alcoholism and relapse: Psychosocial vulnerability factors).
José Aníbal Fonte has published numerous works in the field of Alcoholism and Dependencies, such as the “Questionários de Avaliação Clínica e Epidemiológica do Alcoolismo” (Questionnaires for Clinical and Epidemiological Assessment of Alcoholism). In 1996, he was awarded with the National Prize of Alcohology for the work “Disponibilidade para a mudança: Uso da versão portuguesa do questionário RCQ” (Availability for change: Use of the Portuguese version of the RCQ questionnaire).
Currently, he is the Director of the Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health of the Hospital Centre of Alto Minho, E.P.E., and a professor at the Health School of the Fernando Pessoa University and of the graduate course in Motor Rehabilitation of the University of Minho.
