The research group iGo is a unique network in the area of translational research and Gastrointestinal Oncology that gathers together researchers (integrated and collaborators) with different competences, from different medical schools, universities and renowned institutions working on cancer, such as the Portuguese Institute of Oncology (IPO) of Porto and the Hospital Centre of São João.

Along the last decade, iGO has worked in national and international projects, seeking to position itself as an important partner with the capacity of recruiting a large number of patients for scientific multicentre studies designed to evaluate the different outcomes of new and disruptive technologies in the fields of “screening”, diagnosis, and the approach to gastrointestinal cancer.
