Ramiro Veríssimo is an integrated member of the CINTESIS research group NeuroGen.
He graduated in Medicine and specialized in Psychiatry. He holds a Doctoral Degree from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, where he also works as an Associate Professor.
He has competence in Psychosomatic Medicine certified by the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine, and is a member of several international scientific societies. Ramiro Veríssimo was one of the founders of the Portuguese Psychosomatic Society, which he actively promotes. He was also involved in the creation of the European Network on Psychosomatic Medicine. He was the creator of the Alexithymia Network, and has promoted knowledge about affective regulation through numerous lectures and publications, and the organization of symposia, seminars, workshops, etc. He has also participated in several international Scientific Committees and is frequently invited by journal editors and several associations to review and critic the quality of papers submitted to for the consideration of scientific community.
