A study by CINTESIS – Center for Health Technologies and Services Research and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto shows flaws in the prevention and control of risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
Even after suffering a myocardial infarction or stroke, many patients do not change their lifestyles, do not engage in physical activity and fail to reach the recommended target cholesterol values.
Coordinated by Carlos Martins (CINTESIS / FMUP), this work alerts to real-world problems detected in primary health care, both in Portugal and in other countries.
