The overwhelming majority of the professionals and researchers in the health sector who participated in a survey carried out by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) and CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research, agree that there must be ethical criteria for the admission of COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, in the event of a situation of scarcity of material or human resources.
The survey, coordinated by the researcher and bioethics specialist Rui Nunes and the director of FMUP Altamiro Costa-Pereira, will be extended, in the coming days, to all national medical schools.
