O Auditório do CIM da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (FMUP) vai receber, no próximo dia 20 de maio, a Conferência Internacional sobre Educação Médica. O evento, que conta com Rui Nunes, Ivone Duarte e Guilhermina Rego na Comissão Executiva, tem a chancela da FMUP, da Associação Portuguesa de Bioética e do CINTESIS.
A cerimónia de abertura está prevista para as 9h15, devendo contar com a presença de diversas individualidades, entre os quais o diretor da FMUP, Altamiro da Costa Pereira, o bastonário da Ordem dos Médicos, Miguel Guimarães, e o presidente do Conselho Federal de Medicina do Brasil, José Gallo.
A conferência de abertura, subordinada ao tema “Educação Médica numa Cultura Global”, será proferida pelo presidente da Associação Brasileira de Educação Médica, Nildo Alves Batista.
Estão previstas duas sessões, a primeira sobre “Educação Médica, Desafios e Constrangimentos”, com moderação de Ivone Duarte, e a segunda intitulada “Uma Nova Era para a Educação Médica – Desafios da Transição Digital”, que será moderada por Guilhermina Rego.
Joseph Thornton, da Universidade da Florida, fará a conferência de encerramento, cujo título é “Strengths and Weaknesses of Medical Education”. O encerramento deverá ocorrer pelas 17h15.

The Auditorium of the CIM of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) will host, on May 20, the International Conference on Medical Education. The event, which has Rui Nunes, Ivone Duarte, and Guilhermina Rego on the Executive Committee, is sponsored by the FMUP, the Portuguese Bioethics Association, and CINTESIS.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 9:15 am and will be attended by several individuals, including the director of the FMUP, Altamiro da Costa Pereira, the chairman of the Portuguese Medical Association, Miguel Guimarães, and the president of the Federal Council of Medicine of Brazil, José Gallo.
The opening conference, under the theme “Medical Education in a Global Culture”, will be given by the president of the Brazilian Association of Medical Education, Nildo Alves Batista.
Two sessions are scheduled, the first on “Medical Education, Challenges and Constraints”, moderated by Ivone Duarte, and the second entitled “A New Era for Medical Education – Challenges of the Digital Transition”, which will be moderated by Guilhermina Rego.
Joseph Thornton, from the University of Florida, will give the closing lecture, entitled “Strengths and Weaknesses of Medical Education”. The conference finishes at 5:15pm.
