ABOUT US

Message from the Organisation

In 2019 we celebrate the 10th edition of the Doctoral Programme in Nursing Sciences, after adapting to the Bologna Process in the academic year 2009/2010. However, advanced training in Nursing Sciences has a long tradition at the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences (ICBAS) that started in 1993 with the creation of the Master of Science in Nursing and in 2001 with the creation of the Doctoral Programme in Nursing Sciences.

So far, 109 students have earned a degree in Nursing Sciences. 57 of those graduated from the  Doctoral Programme in Nursing Sciences. The abstracts of their theses will be published in a book to be launched at this meeting, entitled “Asserting the Essence of Nursing”.

This scientific event has the participation of several figures who have contributed to the development and strengthening of Nursing as a study field, in Portugal and worldwide, and will allow us to pay tribute, once again, to a figure who played a key role in the establishment of Nursing Sciences at ICBAS, Professor Nuno Grande.

  • Disseminate nursing knowledge produced in the scope of the Doctoral Programme in Nursing Sciences

Target Audience
