Alberto Mota is a Ph.D. researcher integrated in CINTESIS, in the research group 2D4H – Secondary Data for Health Care Research, belonging to LT3 – Data Science, Decision Making & Information Technology.

He graduated and obtained his Ph.D. in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) in 1990 and 2004, respectively. He did post-graduate studies in Hydrology and Climatology at FMUP (1991). He specialized in Dermatology and Venereology (1998) and Clinical Pharmacology (2008), by the Portuguese Medical Association.

He is a dermatologist at the University Hospital Center of São João, in Porto, and also has a private practice. He is on the board of the Portuguese Society of Dermatology and Venereology (SPDV), in the biennium 2021-2022. He has collaborated in the creation of clinical guidelines, including those of the Directorate General of Health and the European Society for Pediatric Dermatology.

He is an Assistant Professor with Aggregation at FMUP, director of the Specialty College of Dermatology and Venereology, and member of several national and international organizations, in addition to author and co-author of more than a hundred articles and several chapters in scientific books.
