Ana Leonor Ribeiro is an integrated researcher of the NursID group, of the Thematic Line 1 – Preventive Medicine and Societal Challenges of CINTESIS, and Coordinating Professor of the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP) since 2003.
She is a specialist in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Master in Education Management and Planning and Doctor in Nursing from the Catholic University of Porto.
At the professional and academic level, she has focussed her activity on the field of Pain, teaching and researching in this area since the 90’s. In the last years, she has worked and collaborated with several national organisms, namely with the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) in the definition of the “Plano Nacional de Luta Contra a Dor” (National Plan for the Fight Against Pain) (2001); with the Order of Nurses in the organization of the guidelines “Dor: Guia orientador de boas práticas” (Pain: guideline of good practices) (2008); with the SPEO – Portuguese Society of Oncology Nursing, with the APED – Portuguese Association for the Study of Pain; with the OBSERVDOR – National Centre of Pain Observation (of which she is a member since 2008); and with the AEOP – Association of Oncology Nursing of Portugal, where she is a member of the WorkGroup AEOP-DOR. Ana Leonor Ribeiro has also worked in the field of Simulation in Nursing Education within the NUCRE-3DS group (Nursing Clinical Reasoning Education – 3DSimulation) of ESEP.
