The Regulation/Certification of Medical Devices is the topic of the second session of “BISTAS LARGAS – PARA VER MAIS DO QUE O ÓBVIO”, an initiative of CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research, in partnership with Fraunhofer Portugal/MDevNet – National Network of Knowledge Transfer on Medical Devices and the sponsorship of ScaleUp Porto.
The session will take place next September 21, from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, at Casa do Infante, in Porto, and is part of the last meeting of the Action Groups of the MDevNet Networks and the presentation of a preliminary version of the Manual of “Good Practices for Technology Transfer in the field of Technology-Based Medical Devices”, authored by Fraunhofer Portugal.
The objective is to bring together researchers, scholars, public entities, professionals and companies in the field of Technology-Based Medical Devices in a broad debate on Research and Innovation, Technology Transfer Models, Regulatory and Operational Requirements, Health Technology Assessment, Health Security, Accessibility and Sustainability of the System.
The first speakers will be Mariana Moreira, Coordinator of the Medical Device Sector (INFARMED – National Authority of Medicines and Health Products) and Nuno Felício, New Business Development Coordinator (Fraunhofer Portugal/MDevNet), who will introduce the topic of this session.
Starting at 4:15pm, Nuno Felício, will be the moderator at a roundtable entitled “A conversar é que a gente se entende” (Let’s talk it over!), which will feature Mariana Moreira (INFARMED), Antonieta Lucas (President of APORMED – Portuguese Association of Medical Devices Enterprises); Cristina Silva Sampaio (U-Monitor); Carlos Silva, Development Coordinator (CCG – Centre for Computer Graphics); Luís Soares, Chief Strategy Officer / Coordinator (Health Cluster Portugal); and Alexandre Cruz, Regulatory Affairs (HealPro).
The MDevNet project – National Network for Knowledge Transfer on Medical Devices aims to value the knowledge developed by entities of the R&I system on technology-based medical devices through effective technology transfer processes for the industry.
“BISTAS LARGAS” is an initiative of CINTESIS, sponsored by ScaleUp Porto in the framework of its second Open Call. The event in organized in three training and discussion sessions focused on the areas of Intellectual Property, Regulation/Certification; and Communication, schedule for September 14, 21 and 28, respectively, from 3:00pm to 18:00 pm.
