Nuno Vale, a researcher from CINTESIS@RISE and a professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP), has been appointed to the Commission for the Evaluation of Medicines (CAM), an advisory body to INFARMED – the Portuguese National Authority for Medicines and Health Products.

The CAM’s general responsibility is to issue expert statements on matters concerning medicines, particularly in the areas of clinical trials and the assessment of quality, efficacy, and safety.

The new members of this commission were appointed by a joint order of the Portuguese Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Portuguese Minister of Health, dated October 18 (Order no. 11040/2023), published in the Official Gazette on October 27.

Nuno Vale is a principal investigator of the PerMed – Personalized Medicine research group at CINTESIS and a guest assistant professor at FMUP (Department of Community Medicine, Information and Health Decision Sciences), with a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a specialization in Pharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, and Precision Medicine.
