The CINTESIS researchers Carlos Sequeira and Francisco Sampaio have launched the “Enfermagem em Saúde Mental – Diagnósticos e Intervenções” (Mental Health Nursing – Diagnostics and Interventions ”), with the seal of the publisher Lidel.

The work emphasizes the role nurses can play in promoting citizens’ mental health, particularly specialist nurses in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

According to the authors, the book aims to be a contribution to the professionalization and quality of care for people with mental health problems.

Some of the topics covered are the Promotion of Mental Health and Prevention of Mental Illness, Communication and Therapeutic Relationship, Diagnostics and Interventions, Psychotherapeutic Interventions, and Intervention Programs in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing.

Carlos Sequeira is the principal investigator of the NursID group of CINTESIS, a professor at the Nursing School of Porto (ESEP) and current chair of the Portuguese Mental Health Nursing Society. Francisco Sampaio is a researcher at CINTESIS and a professor at the Fernando Pessoa University, as well as current chairman of the Board of the College of Specialty in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing of the Ordem dos Enfermeiros.
