Harriflash, an app created by Adhara, reached last Friday the “top 5” highest-grossing education apps in Google Play, alongside well-known tools like Duolingo or Babel.
Harriflash is a mobile application that aims to help medical students prepare for the National Seriation Exam (PNS in Portuguese). The tool fills a gap in the area of medical education and is the first product released by Adhara, a spin-off of CINTESIS – Center for Health Technology and Services Research, recognized by the U.Porto Innovation.
According to the creators of Harriflash, the performance of the app in the top list of the Google Play Store reflects above all “the users’ endorsement of the tool.” The latest breakthrough was the launch of the “true & false” module, a “premium” content that allows students using this app to test their knowledge quickly, getting immediate feedback on the areas in which they need to improve performance.
Those responsible for the application say they are grateful for the trust that users have placed in the product they have developed. “Above all, we feel an increased responsibility for the search for the best contents and the best solutions, adapted to the demands of the test and the current pedagogical context, which is increasingly supported by technological solutions aimed at the direct support of the students”, Say Bruno Guimarães and José Miguel Diniz, researchers of CINTESIS.
There is more to come soon: “By the end of May and the beginning of June, we are going to launch a new module that will facilitate the simulation of preparation exams for the National Seriation Examination”, explain the students of the Faculty of Medicine of the U.Porto (FMUP).
The Google Play Store platform highlights content that gets better rankings across multiple categories. In addition to the “Top Grossing” category, the Google Play Store ran apps by “Most popular”, “Top paid”, and “Top free”.
