The Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP) is organizing the “Health Economics and Management” Conference, which will be held on November 24th in the Aula Magna of FMUP.

Under the themes of New Challenges and New Models of Training / Innovation and RRP, this conference will bring together national and international experts from different fields and sectors of activity.

The planned roundtables will focus on three central themes: Capacity Building: New Challenges, New Models; Embracing Innovation: New Challenges/New Models; Planning and Implementation: RRP projects with the participation of FMUP.

These three roundtables will be moderated by Eduardo Costa of the Portuguese Association of Health Economics, Fernando Araújo, Executive Director of the National Health Service, and Ricardo Damas of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto.

Eduardo Pinheiro, Secretary of State for Planning, is confirmed to attend, as well as several renowned personalities, including Adolfo Mesquita Nunes (Nova School of Business and Economics), André Valente (Champalimaud Foundation), Fernando Almeida (Boyden), Francisco Rocha Gonçalves (Sanofi), Hans Severens (Health Council of the Netherlands) and Susana Oliveira (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto).

Among the FMUP speakers confirmed are Altamiro da Costa Pereira, Director of the Faculty, António Soares, Guilhermina Rego, João Fonseca, and Rui Nunes.

It should be remembered that FMUP is a benchmark in the training and production of knowledge in health economics, having taught different cycles of studies in this field for over 20 years.
