Cristina Maria Nogueira Costa Santos is the Principal Investigator of the BioData research group of CINTESIS.
She graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto, earned her Master Degree in Statistics and Information Management from the Nova University of Lisbon and her Doctoral Degree in Clinical Investigation and Health Services from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto (FMUP). She worked as a Monitor and later as a Guest Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto. Since 2010, she is an Assistant Professor of the Department of Community Medicine, Health Information and Decision (MEDCIDS) of FMUP.
Her research focusses mainly on Biostatistics, applied to Medicine in general and to Obstetrics and Gynaecology in particular. She has participated as a researcher in several projects financed by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and technology and has authored numerous scientific articles published in indexed journals.
