About CriticalMed

The research group CriticalMed aims at promoting innovative interdisciplinary research and increasing knowledge in this area to ensure improvement of prevention, diagnosis, approach, and treatment of critically ill patients.

The group benefits from the vast experience of its members (integrated researchers and collaborators). In Portugal and abroad, it occupies a relevant position as an important partner in the research of pressing topics of Emergency Medicine and of Critical Care. Some of these topics are patients’ quality of life after a critical illness, sepsis approach, the prevention of cardiac events, epidemiology and recording of trauma or renal replacement therapy.
